Research is an integral part of Leeds Met's Vision and Character. The University's Research Strategy takes forward our vision of 'combining mass participation and world-class performances'. The strategy is built on a definition of research and scholarly activity in which quality, inclusivity and excellence are of paramount importance.

Established in 2004, The University Research Office (URO) exists to provide developmental support to postgraduate researchers and all staff pursuing research and scholarly activity, and extends to practical and in-depth advice and assistance with identifying and securing external funding bids.
